Sometimes it is nice to have a rainy day
The easiest way to enjoy a rainy day is going to Split. Split has many shopping malls. The biggest one is: Mall of Split. The mall is full of all kind of shops, cinema and restaurants. There are shops for everything and everyone and I enjoy that they have trained and professional workers in every shop. It makes so much more fun, if you walk into a shop and the lady knows your size and your stile but just looking at you – that’s my preferred way of shopping. If you want to have some simple, easy delicious Asian Food – that’s the place to go to. In nearly all malls you find a good & cheap Asian restaurant. Of course, you can find also a lot of Cinemas in the malls. Most movies in Croatia are shown in original version with Croatian subtitle, which makes it easier for foreigners to enjoy watching newest movies during the holidays.
Additionally, you can go to the town center and have fun is some crazy museums. For example, the Game of Thrones Museum or the Frog museum. We can recommend both even though I must say the frog museum is definitely freaky. There are also a lot of historical places to visit and during rainy days Split is usually not too crowded. Just keep in mind the old alleys are narrow and walking with umbrellas can be a little bit challenging.
Little Tips from us:
If you drive to Split please use the highway. There is also a stunning oceandrive but the streets are narrow and Croatians drive crazy aggressive. So it is dangerous, risk of an accident is pretty that. That results in long waiting in traffic jams (happens a lot during main season) and help has huge issues to reach people in need because the road is full, small and hospital is far away. So use the highway you will be so much faster & relaxter in Split escpecially when it is raining.
